Zusammenfassung
Die Frauenbewegung in Istanbul im frühen 20. Jahrhundert war nicht nur eine nationalistische, sondern eine transkulturelle, mit westlichem Feminismus verflochtene Frauenbewegung. Der Beitrag zeigt exemplarisch mit der Frauenzeitschrift Kadınlar Dünyâsı (1913-1921) diese Verflechtungen auf, erörtert diesen transkulturellen Charakter und fragt nach ihrer Rolle für den transnationalen Ideenaustausch der feministischen Bewegungen.
Die Forschung zu diesem Beitrag fand im Rahmen des vom Schweizerischen Nationalfonds finanzierten Projekts »Ein Human Rights Turn in der internationalen Geschlechterpolitik der Zwischenkriegszeit? Menschenrechte, Frauenbewegung und der Völkerbund« an der Universität Bern statt.
